Hi there...this is one of my favorite necklaces. When I originally bought it, it came with a tag that explained the meaning of the symbol. Unfortunately, I lost the tag. I get a lot of compliments on it, and many people ask me the meaning of the symbol. I would like to know myself! I think it is a celtic knot, and perhaps has to do with infintity. Any knowledge shared is much appreciated! Thanks!

Oh, thank you! I hope it's something solar because I love the sun and summer! Anyone else have any info?

Sorry it took me a bit to reply. I didn't even notice you had posted this.

This symbol is a symbol of protection as well as Spiritual Connection.

This symbol demonstrates the complexity of life. The stylized cross with the circle represents the sun. It's meant to remind us that even though we are on earth that we are still connected to the afterlife. The horizontal arms symbolize the Earth; the temporal life. The vertical arms of the Celtic cross represent spiritual life; they reach to the heavens. The circle within the cross symbolizes that everything is connected. Each time the knotwork overlaps an added layer of protection is added. A. F. Stewart is correct. It is a solar symbol.

Keep in mind that this interpretation is a modern romanticised version of the symbol meaning. Probably close to what the ancients believed. The actual meanings are lost, but I think this is pretty darn close to what they would have told you.

Peace be the journey,
Shane Clark

Thanks for the info... I'll go with the complexity of life, everything being interconnected, and it being a solar symbol as all life gets its energy from the sun. cheers
