Profile Information

About Me:
I'm Italian with a hint of German. I lived in Ireland when I was 7 and loved every bit of it. We (me and mom) lived in Kilkee, County Claire, which is on the coast. We lived in a flat in the city then a potato farm in the country. I learned how to ride a bike, and was just starting to learn Gaelic when we came back to the States. The people are really friendly and it's absolutely beautiful.

My son, Jason is 22 and is a musician. He's a fantastic drummer and is recently learning the guitar. I Got married last year 2008... and my divorce became final on my birthday 2009. What an excellent present, I get to celebrate every year! What a freakin' hell of a ride that was! I handled the divorce on my own without attorney involvement, so I'm really happy it's done. Family law is definitely NOT for me. Talk about jumping through hoops! Dayam!

While waiting for work in auto claims, I've gone back to school to get my AA and certification as a paralegal. Then I'm going for my bachelor's degree where I'll probably major in political science. My fall schedule is corporate law, criminal law, legal research, and law office management.
Hobbies/Interests:
I love art, literature, music, and the study of law. I also like shooting pool, amusement parks, fairs, cruises, bicycling, cooking and baking.
My Profession:
Catastrophic auto claims with transition to paralegal, and possibly law school, but I haven't quite made up my mind.
Relationship Status:
Single

Hi Gennine,

Thanks for being so open about your life. It makes it a lot easier to relate to you as a real person. It's been awhile since we wrote, but I still think you are a great spirit on this planet and well needed at this time to help raise the communication and consciousness and empathy that we all need. As you noted, we are close, and so if you ever come down towards Santa Cruz or the San Lorenzo Valley it would be fun to meet you and show you what it's like here since I have been here for five generations or so.

I know how you feel about your marriage and divorce. I was married in 2001 and ten months later I filed for divorce, and since then I have focused more on quality friendships with good women rather than getting involved on a deeper level, and I like the freedom it gives me and the ability to meet some great women such as yourself with no agenda or goal or having to meet up to anyone's fantasy. Friends like each other for who they are and I like that.

Anyway, I just wanted to reconnect and say hi and wish you a great summer and a fantastic life on a daily basis.

Take care,

Michael

Thanks for writing and of course being one of my friends. Yes your right about New England being beautiful but wrong about being humid all summer, yes we have our days but only in July and some days in August. And yes the winters can be hard but it makes you keep n the toes and in terms of driving I just use studded snow tires on my VW Jetta Diesel/Veg.Oil car. If you think driving in N.E. in the winter is hard wait till you drive in Ireland. Speaking of Ireland I was there last year working on a series of Irish calendars but not going this year. I've been writing to a woman named Kathy in the midwest whose husband helped me with a tractor I have, anyway she is trying to get me to be a guide for a group of her friends to Ireland. I have never done anything like this before although a friend has been trying to get me to do some photo tours there, which he does for a tour company. She has my interest up as I know the country better than a lot of Irish do, as I've been over more times than I can count on my two hands plus a bit more. Not really sure maybe 16-18 times. I'm also used to driving there which as I said can be a bit hairy at times. So who knows maybe something will come together for next year. I do miss it there when I'm not there. Wish I could live there for a while or half the year. I once lived in Cork for three months and it was hard to leave. Check out my images on my site but on this site as I posted a newer one of Black Head in Clare in the Burren.
So changing horses in mid stream! How long were you married? The way you wrote it I thought your son just got married but it did not work out for him. Is this your second marrage? If this is a current image of you, "Wow what a beautiful lass your are!" I would never dreamed you had a 21 year old son. You must of had him young. By the way you should be proud of yourself for having the goals you have and going back to school for your degree. You sound like a great lady I'm lucky to connect with the likes of you.

Sounds like you had quite a time in Ireland, even though it was only for a short while! And don't worry, sometimes a short question needs a long answer. Besides I LOVE hearing about other people's lives, memories and experiences. Thank you for sharing!

Hello, there.
Well, American paralegals sound a bit like what I am then, since I'm an asistant and everything I do has to be signed by a representative, a quialified one. The thing is that here you need a degree for everything and even to be a representative you have to spend five years at University. Then again, I don't think I want to become a lawyer I just started studying Law because I wanted to know the rules with which we are playing this game called real life. But it is great that I got this job at the same time so that I can sea reality as well as books (we don't do practical sessions in Law Universities) Shame about the conditions, hahahaha One can hardly make a living out of this at the moment, but we'll see...
So you lived in Ireland and that's why you joined this Celtic page? I love everything Celtic and tried to learn Irish some time ago. Quite hard though, and again, I'm not very constant...
Best regards.

Well, I used to like it more from the outside, I guess. I work with a particular feature of the Spanish legal system, a kind of legal representative in Court which is not a lawyer nor an attorney. We act as representatives for the client at Court and have to attend hearings and deal with paper work both at Court and other official offices. In the meantime we simply keep the lawyer of a particular case and the Court in touch.
I'm also curious about the difference between the two systems. I guess they're quite different since we follow opposite traditions. I'm also studying Law at university, though I'm not very constant at that. I'd like to know what kind of work you do as well and see the differences.
Keep well.

Hello Gennine,
Welcome to the network! I see you're one of the lucky ones who has lived in Ireland. How long were you there?
