Hi Jen,
Got some information I think would help take you to the next level with the sales of your works. It will take a bit of work, but it's so easy to do. I'm very impressed with it myself. No installing stuff on your site. Simply put in html code for each product and poof. Works great.
Recently I got signed up and created an affiliate program for my Celtic Tattoo Art. What it is, is a program that allows others to promote my art and earn a percentage. I give a generous 40% comission, but you can give however much you like. (I'll definately sign up and post you across hundreds of sites.)
Anyway, check out the link (and sign up) so you can see what it's about and how easy it is to use. Don't forget you have a friend here that will help you if you need it k. I sincerely believe this will help take you to the next level.
Hi Jen,
You have some awesome artwork. I love Celtic everything. I have been in love with Ireland for years. Thanks for your talent.
I was born in San Francisco but I now live in Morgan Hill. That's about 20 miles south of San Jose. Maybe someday if you have a showing of your art we'll meet.
I still desperately want to build a panel tracing the flight of Gwion Bach...been drawing out the knotwork for years -- I figure that I'll know when the time is right.
Thanks for a copy of the text -- I've always been fascinated by the Salmon of Knowledge. Maybe it's just because it's the closest thing to a consistent Irish creation story as I've found. The window I made was more, also, to make a point that I never really see acknowledged in the texts, and should be obvious from the timing: the Salmon chose to be caught by Fionn. I make glass because I'm in love with the stories, and it's the perfect medium for someone without a writer's talents (such as myself) to pass them on...and part of loving stories is in finding ways to apply them to your life. The idea of this creature that represented the absolute embodiment of all knowledge and understanding, not comprehending it's own fate or controlling it's own future? Boo to that!
Have you ever read Charles de Lint? He's got a few very subtle allusions to the Salmon of Knowledge in his Newford books, most particularly in (the horribly titled) Forests of the Heart. In it, he takes a very interesting tack -- in that the Salmon has been sleeping in the well ever since Fionn caught him (and, being only tasted, never truly devoured). And whenever the Salmon wakes (if ever), the whole of existence will be changed. Grow, myth -- grow!
Thanks for the kind comment, Jen. Yup, that's my Señor Fishis, there. It's been a few years since I built him, and I'll admit the itch to go back and build a larger panel is beginning to get the better of me. I feel I should add that I've been a fan of your for a long while -- glad to see you on here.
P.S. I'd love to hear what you had to write about the Salmon. Obviously, the story fascinates me.
A friend of mine brought to my attention that on my myspace profile i have one of your artworks, celtic tree he said i should get ur permission to have it, did not know that you were the owner , I have had it for many years, I have a blanket that I bought almost 15 years ago with the same design, could u let me know if it is ok.
