2-3 lb corned beef brisket w/ spice packet
1-3 TBS bacon grease (optional)
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper or to taste
1/2 onion (red, yellow,white, or vidalia) (we used the latter) chopped
1/2 c cabbage chopped
1-2 c water or veggie stock
salt pepper to taste
Cook corned beef w/ 1/2 spice packet & water/ stock in crock pot on low all day.
When done, pour juices into 2 qt. pot . Place cabbage/onion into juices w/ crushed pepper
& cook until tender add bacon grease if desired at this time
can also use green, red, or yellow peppers for additional flavor & color
